Along with restoring the public repository (pub.vestasys.org) I have the development repository back up on a separate VM reachable at dev.vestasys.org. As before, the repository on dev.vestasys.org is not accessible from the Internet at large to limit access to the repository with mastership of the Vesta source packages. I have *not* reinstated any login accounts on dev for those of you who previously had them. If you would like yours re-enabled, please e-mail me privately with your SSH public key. Remote access by peer Vesta repositories is still an option. I'm now using a much simpler setup than the previous ppp-over-ssh (for those of you who remember that). Please also e-mail me privately if you want your repository to be able to perform remote checkouts from (i.e. transfer mastership from) dev. --Ken |

Belated note: I decided to let vestasys.com expire since we are not using it, but I did renew vestasys.org. Let me know if you think we should keep vestasys.com. -- sent from my phone ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: "Gandi" <sup...@ga...> Date: May 26, 2015 4:47 PM Subject: [GANDI] vestasys.com expires tomorrow To: <hos...@ti...> Cc: Hello! This is important, so please read carefully. You are being sent this message because you are a contact for the domain vestasys.com under Gandi handle TM37-GANDI. This domain will expire at the Registry tomorrow, on 2015-05-28 02:24. If you would like to keep this domain, you must renew it before this date. The domain will be renewable at the normal price until 2015-06-26 16:24 IMPORTANT: if you miss the renewal deadline, your domain name will be deleted from our system on 2015-06-26 16:24. Its status will then change to "restorable" until 2015-07-27 02:24. Note, however, that the price of a restoration may be considerably higher than for a regular renewal, and associated services like GandiMail are not recovered when a domain is restored! To renew the domain, please go to Gandi's website at http://www.gandi.net/ and choose the "Domain names" tab, followed by "Renew" or go directly to this page: https://www.gandi.net/renew?domain_list=vestasys.com (if the link does not appear on a single line, please copy and paste the whole thing into the address bar of your web browser.) If you do not want to keep the domain, no further action is needed. If you do nothing, then vestasys.com will go back on the open market on or around 2015-08-01 02:24 (the exact date may vary slightly depending on the registry and time zone differences). A tip from Gandi's Support team: if you are in an emergency situation and you have forgotten your handle and/or password, you can renew a domain name from any other Gandi handle, or create a new one just for that purpose: http://www.gandi.net/contact/create (Note that renewing a domain from a different handle does not affect the domain's ownership.) Feel free to contact our Customer Care Department should you have any questions or require any additional assistance: http://www.gandi.net/faq/contact_support Thank you for choosing Gandi! Best Regards, -- GANDI - https://www.gandi.net |

Feature Requests item #1076351, was opened at 2004-11-30 17:40 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by xorian You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=410430&aid=1076351&group_id=34164 Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: Repository User-Interface Tool Group: None >Status: Closed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Kenneth C. Schalk (xorian) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: vdiff command Initial Comment: Vesta could use a command that's the equivalent of "cvs diff". The following trivial shell script might make a good starting point (though could probably start a "more vs. less" flame war): #!/bin/sh diff -r -u `vattrib -g old-version` . | more There have been other versions of this script with different features and call syntax. I'll attach another one from the Arana era (author unknown, but probably Tim Mann or Matt Reilly). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Kenneth C. Schalk (xorian) Date: 2010-03-30 13:51 Message: Completed in: /vesta/vestasys.org/vesta/repos_ui/72 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Tim Mann (timmann) Date: 2005-01-27 05:38 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=95236 It's sort of interesting to note that if you have vestaweb set up for your repository, it pretty much dominates all this stuff. But it's nice to have it from the command line anyway. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Tim Mann (timmann) Date: 2005-01-27 05:34 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=95236 I've attached a slight mod to Ken's last vdiff that gets the diff program to use (including the -r flag if needed) from the value of the VESTA_DIFF environment variable. I suppose the next refinement could be to make it use vgetconfig to allow getting it from vesta.cfg too/instead. I've also attached tkdiffr, a small wrapper for tkdiff I just wrote that adds recursive diffing. It simply brings up each new tkdiff after you close the last one. The next refinement would be to pop up a box full of buttons instead, but I don't have nearly enough energy to code that at the moment. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Tim Mann (timmann) Date: 2005-01-27 04:49 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=95236 That's pretty cool. If you wanted to tighten it up, you could use "case" to pass on arguments that start with - to diff (rather than arguments that don't exist as files in the current directory), perhaps with the added refinement of stopping at the first --. Another feature I want is to use some other diff program, such as tkdiff. I've gotten pretty addicted to tkdiff at work. Unfortunately, tkdiff can't diff directories, so it's not a drop-in replacement for diff in this script. (At work we have a Rube Goldberg kludge that creates a script to pop up a box full of buttons, one for each changed file, that when pressed invoke tkdiff on that file.) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Kenneth C. Schalk (xorian) Date: 2005-01-25 09:38 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=304837 I'm attaching a new version of vdiff which allows the user to specify specific files/directories to diff versus the old version. For example: vdiff -u -w src/foo.* I've found this useful when looking at a directory with changes in many files. I'm not entirely happy with this implementation, as it could treat something which is intended as a flag to be passed to diff as an explicit file/directory specification. However, that's probably not likely to cause problems in practice. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Kenneth C. Schalk (xorian) Date: 2004-12-08 17:19 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=304837 I had a thought about vsdiff: it would be nice to be able to diff not just against the last vadvance, but N vadvances ago. After playing around a bit, I decided that it might also be nice to diff N vadvances ago versus M vadvances ago. I'm attaching a version that implements this (though it may be a half-baked on a couple points). Examples: "vsdiff" - diff the last vadvance versus the current contents "vsdiff -a 1" - diff the previous vadvance versus the current contents "vsdiff -a 4 -b 2" - diff 4 vadvances ago versus 2 vadvances ago ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Tim Mann (timmann) Date: 2004-12-01 15:43 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=95236 Oops, I pasted my vdiff script twice. This is vsdiff: #! /bin/sh diff -r $* `vattrib -g session-dir`/`vattrib -g session-ver-arc` . ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Tim Mann (timmann) Date: 2004-12-01 01:45 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=95236 That was probably Matt. My vdiff is the following one-liner. I haven't really studied Matt's longer version to see what the advantages of his are. #! /bin/sh diff -r $* `vattrib -q -G old-version || vattrib -G old-version ..` . I also have a script called vsdiff that diffs against the latest version in the current session rather than the base version that started the session: #! /bin/sh diff -r $* `vattrib -q -G old-version || vattrib -G old-version ..` . ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=410430&aid=1076351&group_id=34164 |
