I'm currently running VeraCrypt v1.25.9 and trying to open a TrueCrypt
container created about 10 years ago. I'm certain that the password/key is
correct since I saved that in a text file before uploading the container to
Google Drive. It's 63 random characters (uppercase/lowercase/numbers)
long. I've made sure VC is running in TrueCrypt mode, I've tried using the
backup header option and I've redownloaded the file several times. I also
have several thumbdrives from around the same period that were whole
partition encrypted and I'm 99% sure I know the password for those
(different from the uploaded container) and those won't open either. I'm
wondering if anyone knows if there is any known issue or bug that might
prevent a correct password from working on the containers or drives.

VeraCrypt can only open TrueCrypt volumes created using TrueCrypt 6.0 released on July 4, 2008 or newer TrueCrypt versions.

Good point. I'm sure it was at least 6 and almost certainly 7. Thanks for your help though.
