After lots of Googling, I discovered my issues may be due to xhost permissions issue, had to run "xhost +" as regular user to allow permission to root/sudo user. Also added "Defaults env_var=DISPLAY" into /etc/sudoers in case the SLED11/KDE combination I have setup affected how sudo was working.

This allowed me to get the yad display to open and run the software.

I always trying to help but without questions..
