well yes first i had my forum without login requirements but the problem with that is that the user will never get an info when i reply so I decided to enforce that..
oh well your yad version is very old... (june 2011) :o(
unfortunately you need an newer version of yad to get vEMan running..
There are debian packages available and if you don't use a debian/ubuntu flavour distro - installing yad from the sources is very easy, too. All details here: http://code.google.com/p/yad/
Hope that helps

The question is how? From the sources? Then you had downloaded a very old src package.
Now - as I know your OS - I would recommend the following way for you:
uninstall your yad version (depends on how you had installed it)
e.g.: apt-get purge yad - if you had installed it as a debian package
Add the YAD ppa repository with: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/y-ppa-manager sudo apt-get update
Install the latest version of yad: sudo apt-get install yad

Hi,
well yad is not in the official Ubuntu repositories so you are required to install it manually (and thats what you have done because yad is obviously available - even when its old).
The question is how? From the sources? Then you had downloaded a very old src package.
Now - as I know your OS - I would recommend the following way for you:
e.g.: apt-get purge yad - if you had installed it as a debian package
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/y-ppa-manager
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install yad
By adding the PPA of the webupd8team above you will be able to receiver further updates of yad in the future. If you don't like to add the PPA (only then) you can download the single debian package instead:
https://launchpad.net/~webupd8team/+archive/y-ppa-manager/+files/yad_0.21.0-1~webupd8~precise_amd64.deb
Then try again to start vEMan.
I'm looking forward to your feedback!
Thanks
Thomas
I'm absolutelly sure I installed from not source.
I try to follow your description again.
TIA,
Ruzsi
root@fcubi:~# yad --version
0.21.0
It seems working.
No complaining dialog. ;-)
I got the login dialog. I have to start my ESXi server ...
TIA,
Ruzsi
Great to hear that :o)
Thanks for your help!
I think there'll some questions when my ESXi server starts. ;-)
TIA,
Ruzsi
