Tested this first in Virtual Box, installer was rather slow there, but went
well. KDE crashed repeatedly before the desktop finished loading. Might be
due to the VM, since this is first time running this particular one.
Installed to actual hardware. Kernel seemed to install good for Lilo. KDE
didn't crash here, but I think that the indexing thing is a waste of load
time, and I do not see much of a difference with it on or off, as far as
performance on desktop.
Installation went well, I am not seeing lagging / sluggishness on my end
(only in VMs of course). On this particular machine it seemed to go rather
fast comparing to previous installations. One note during installation was
after setting up user. Seems I got 2 different prompts saying the same thing
with different wording. I'll pay closer attention on next test install to
get details to give.
KDM's root icon should be fixed when a new theme package is up. I think it
can be done via installer too, if user selects an icon, installer could
write to kdmrc and appoint an icon for root automatically. It might be good
to build it into the icon selection section, where the icon button is
clicked? Otherwise theme package could handle it.
