I've just uploaded a new seamonkey package. I think the problem with the duplicate kde menu entries was caused by having both a seamonkey.desktop and a seamonkey-browser.desktop copied into /usr/share/applications. In this build, I removed seamonkey-browser.desktop and left seamonkey.desktop in. After uninstalling the previous build and installing this one, there is now only one seamonkey-browser entry in the kmenu. I'm still not seeing the seamonkey icons in KDE's kmenu (however, someone with kde 3.5 needs to check this, as I'm using kde 3.4.2). (I compiled and packaged before looking at Joe1962's template ... I think I should have kept seamonkey-browser.desktop and discarded seamonkey.desktop instead.) I also edited both helper desktop entries, seamonkey-browser.desktop and seamonkey-mailer.desktop, to include "NotShowIn=KDE" as the last line, as recommended by John. Appears okay in xfce as well. best, incognu |

SO far everything looks good and pretty fast. Calendar is working even less than in 1.0.5, maybe we should build without it, till they get their act together on this? Regards, Joe1962 |

This is peculiar. The calendar seems to be working for me with the latest 1.0.6 package, 5.8 RC2. I was able to create about half a dozen events. The only flakiness was that all-day events tend to be set for the day before the date you select. I tested by using "New Event" button ... and also by clicking the date, both of which brought up the dialogue. Admittedly, I've been mainly using 1.1b without calendar for several months, so I may be missing something that would be seen in more constant use. Re non-calendar builds, how many people are seeing this? If it's a common problem, perhaps building without calendar would be a good idea. However, maybe also having a calendar build available for others? Another issue, which I think is now fixed, is the breakage caused by the reporter tool when using language packs. Previously, installing a language pack often caused the dreaded "grey bar" problem. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=301842 http://users.skynet.be/fa258499/faq.html#reportererror I've tested with a few language packs on 1.0.6 without problems. Anyone want to double-check? I think it's important that we know this bug is fixed, since it sometimes effectively renders SM "en-US only." If necessary, SM could be built without reporter. best, incognu Quoting "Jose J. I tried a fresh profile even. In 1.0.5, the dialogs would sometimes finish, but nothing was created. Regards, Joe1962 |

Also tested in xfce, just in case. I took a quick look in the forum and noticed GrannyGeek is also experiencing this bug. I can build it either way. If a non-calendar build is decided on, I can provide an unofficial and unsupported calendar build. I normally make 1.0.x calendar builds, anyway. For what it's worth, I doubt this will be fixed upstream. My understanding is that the Calendar project has dropped support for SeaMonkey 1.8 branch (1.1b) and trunk (1.5a). best, incognu > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Take Surveys.
