Er, um, not to crosspost here as well as on the sm package thread, but I think
the seamonkey duplicate kmenu problem may have been more due to my somehow
having both seamonkey.desktop and seamonkey-browser.desktop files to be copied
to /usr/share/applications. Corrected in latest build -- though I see
from the
template (thanks, Joe1962) that I should have kept seamonkey-browser.desktop
instead of seamonkey.desktop.
I also included JohnB316's suggestion of editing the xfce helper items.
No sm .desktop entries are going into /opt/kde/share/applications (or anywhere
in /opt/kde, as far as I can see).
I'm seeing the duplicate gtk-qt-engine entries in KDE's Control Centre,
though,
both with KDE 3.5 (originally) and with KDE 3.4.2.
