Improvement: going to "localhost:631" or "127.0.0.1:631" brings up the proper CUPS page. When clicking on "administration" it asks for credentials. = Problem: When trying to add a printer (or class), I can add name, location and description, but when clicking on "continue", I get error: "413 Request Entity Too Large" Roy -- Robert Lange <vec...@ya...> wrote: Hello, I have made a new cups package for Dynamite .16 if a few with a printer could test this it would be appreciated ftp://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/vectorlinux/veclinux-curre= nt/packages/base/cups-1.2.2-i586-2vl6.tlz Please post results here on the mailing list. CUPS works now :-) = I added one network printer using a print server and another using SMB. Interesting change from previous versions, it does not ask for credentials until you complete the final step in adding printer or making other changes. After adding the printers, I selected CUPS in Xfce Settings > "Printer System Settings". In Accessories >"Print Manager" the printers show up as "Unknown". Only apps I found that could see the printers were Seamonkey and GIMP. Finally made it in to ibiblio, it was unreachable for a couple of days := -( Installed package but noticed no changes. "File > Print" does nothing in Mousepad. In Leafpad I get Xfce print dialog with "lf" as only choice. Attemting to print gives: "lpr: The printer or class was not found" Roy -- Robert Lange <vec...@ya...> wrote: Roy and anyone else, OK thats good. Here is a link from Mandriva's bug tracker, for what it may be worth to us: http://www.archivesat.com/cooker.mandrivalinux.org/thread31993.htm There was an especially big stink with the latest Ubuntu when cups 1.2.0 was released.
