- In the original posted link for the delta there is an extra "4" in the name. Mplayer uses single-click - VLC: If you close it while playing a ripped DVD directory (without hitting stop first), audio keeps playing in the background. - It would be nice with an obvious, point and click way of mounting and accessing an optical drive. - Launchers: Some use launch feedback, some don't. How about making all the same? - THUNAR file associations: Only some apps show up under "Other Applications". - Error when installing Opera: "Could not parse /usr/share/applications/ppracer.desktop Key file contains line "!" which is not a key-value, pair, group or commment". Opera still works fi= ne. - "Network > Sylpheed-Claws and "Settings > Autostarted..." have no icons on my start menu. - This may be because I have two NIC's, one connected to a DSL modem using DHCP, the other goes to my LAN and uses static IP. I had to add the second inet manually using VASM. When starting Xfce, I get warning: = = "Could not look up internet address for vector.vnet.com. This will prevent Xfce from operating correctly. It may be possible to correct the problem by adding vector.vnet.com to the file /etc/hosts on your system". = I did add the name behind the static address in /etc/hosts and the warning went away. Roy ------------------------------------------------------------------ To re-hash from previous version (-15): Launch Feedback: Panel Browser button: I check the box in properties for launch feedback, but it does not seem to have any effect. Seamonkey: If I try to launch from the desktop icon, or start menu, when already running, I get the Profile Manager which will not let me launch a second copy using the same profile. Panel button will launch second copy. The "Samba Network" application works great. Only gripe is that it shows your password in plain text when you type it in. I'm unable to figure out "pyNeighborhood". I can add hosts, but not mount from there. What does it do that "Samba Network" does not? Menu Editor: The items between "Help" and "Settings" don't show up. I see an entry "include".. does it pull that in from somewhere else? If you run X as root, the start menu entries for VASM and GSLAPT do not work. JACK Rack: Will there be some install/setup option to configure and start the jackd server? If you have Seamonkey with a similar integrated app, is Sylpheed really necessary? Dynamite 5.9.8.16 = - My NIC's keep trading places. I set up inet1 and inet2 using VASM, one uses DHCP for internet, the other static for LAN, and everything works fine. Until after next reboot, that is, when eth0 and eth1 get changed around, resulting in no network functionality. I deleted both inets and just added the necessary lines to /etc/rc.d/rc.local and that works. - Firewall: Before I could access my samba shares, I had to first enable the f/w, start it, then stop it. Even with firewall up, ports 22 and 139 are open, according to an external scanner. - CUPS: I was able to get into cupsweb and set up a network printer. It prints a test page OK from web interface. Roy, The bug is not with Opera, but with the ppracer.desktop file. Opera's installer script is behaving as intended when it parses the .desktop files in the /usr/share/applications file, as it is searching for helper apps for different MIME types. Among info contained in the .desktop files can be the MIME types associated with a given app. The file that needs fixing is the ppracer.desktop file. 1) Should we plan to not have too much gap between Standard and SoHo ?
and also have a way to dist upgrade from std to SoHo ?
[ Tongue in cheek] there were too many releases in the last two weeks for
the time i could commit, so if somethign was fixed in one of the releases
please excuse me.
Also should we plan on limiting the number of releases? so that we can spend
more time on testing and less on installing?

2) I have a Short List myself: [ some of these are based on feedback i got
after a few newbies had a free ride on my system for a while, in presence
ofcourse ]
1 PDF is associated with firefox by default
xpdf does not work, [ some library missing ]
it is not easy to change which application opens it by default.
2. No Calculator button by default, this is a bummer. my wife could not find
out how to launch it from the command line by herself and got frustrated
and wanted me to change to SOHO
3. Windows key or CTRL +ESC does not access the start menu.
4. File -> Send To in Gnumeric did not work [ message is : no default
handler for Mailto ]
