Newt, the troubles from kde on your desktop are because of the NV driver. Try setting the color depth down to 16 bit. You might want to additionaly change driver to vesa instead nv, but I think just doing the color depth should be enough for that. Upstream issue with kde4 there, alternatively you can turn off the extras (clock) and use classsic menu. UNsure why Nvidia (or kernel src) did not install there, I did not run into that issue. |
