[Vectorlinux-devel] Screen Resolution Sizes

Hello All,

I often times wonder about screen resolution sizes and why: 1) we don't have more
resolution sizes to choose from, and 2) why they aren't in "order" using the the
first resolution size. I think it would be a nice feature to have many more
resolution sizes to choose from, especially some unusual sizes that are common on
widescreen displays. If it's not possible to implement this for the installer then
no worries, but I think it would worth while for post-install configuration. I
always have to choose the lower 1400x900 resolution and then adjust after-the-fact
to my 1680x1050. Taking a quick look at wikipedia for 'display resolution' and
'comparison of netbooks' I think a comprehensive listing of resolution sizes would
be:

640×480
800×480
800×600
1024×576
1024×600
1024×768
1152×864
1280×768
1280×800
1280×960
1280×1024
1366×768
1440×900
1600×768
1600×1200
1680×1050
1920×1080
1920×1200

This list certainly isn't exhaustive but perhaps a good start. Obviously, I don't
know what kind of effort is required to edit the vxconf(?) resolution selection
stage but if it's not too hard then it might be a useful change.
