I'll see if I can find any differences in the code for the last of the 
svn builds I was using.

Viewing is a help, but not much - I use MC as my main archive handler, 
and F3 doesn't open the archive, just lets me see what files are in it.

If I can't find any difference, I'll raise a bug on the MC bug tracker.
