Some quick notes on installing A1.38 using installer version 867: First I install from iso images on the hd using a pendrive to boot the init.gz image. This has worked quit well and has saved me tons of cd's. The good news is the installer correctly picks up the iso images once again which has been a problem last few installs with previous versions of the installer. The bad news is the package install order seems to be messed up as the base packages were done then it jumped right into the kde4 packages then X11 packages then dev packages this resulted in a mess at boot up as i believe x11 packages and kde4 packages should be last as was done in previous installs. The other thing is that when jumping to second iso a filemanager screen comes up but is no where close to where second iso is which in my case is in the /mnt directory which is where the file dialog should default to open too. This could be very confusing to newbies to the system. So suggest the file dialog open to /mnt make it easier to find second iso. Last problem is grub the default installs (base and recovery) have some formatting issues that leave base unbootable. the base in grub.cfg has the vga= line cut off so it reads vga= instead of vga=791. Once I edit that base is once bootable again. There are other formatting issues there but that seems the critical issue. Other than those few issues we seem to be progressing nicely!..........thanks again M0E for your very hard work!!! Testers please keep those reports coming!!! The more reports the faster it gets debugged! Thanks again, R Robert Lange vec...@ya... http://www.vectorlinux.com --- On Tue, 9/29/09, Masta MCF <mas...@gm...> wrote: > From: Masta MCF <mas...@gm...> > Subject: Re: [Vectorlinux-devel] VL6.0-SOHO-A1.38 + txz > To: vec...@li... > Received: Tuesday, September 29, 2009, 5:17 PM > Importing Users: > Hi M0E. > OK, so you're already aware of the importing users > issues.
