We may need to modify something somewhere..
I can tell you I have no intention of jacking with vxconf or
/etc/X11/xorg.conf from the installer... It's just not a viable
option.

I think what's happening is just an old xorg rule. The values in
xorg.conf override what's in the user's bashrc... I'm not sure, but I
think that may be the case.

I'm only doing modifications at the user's home level in .bashrc. I
know KDE follows the LANG setting from there, and when language packs
are installed, it works flawlessly. (I have not tested keybd mappings
yet)

I need to figure out why the language packs are not getting installed.
