Just installed again here on a VM and here come the results.

X did not start on first boot. Font problems, had to run the font scripts.

KDM now shows the login pictures selected during installation.. nice ;)

Root does not have a .face icon. Dont know if we should address that
from the installer or from somewhere else... Let me know.

I think we should default the desktop style to "Folder View" and not Desktop
Folder view will provide the users with a desktop style they are
familiar with. Icons go right into the desktop
Desktop provides the box on the desktop that shows the icons. This box
can be closed and all the sudden icons dissapear. I dont think this is
a good default configuration.

Other than that, it worked for me.
Lilo worked too.
