The reason I'm begging for trac is because the installer will need serious
testing/debugging... my time keeps getting cut shorter and shorter as I
struggle to keep my job / find a new one, so organization is key to make the
most out of my time

Well, Source Forge must be keeping a log somewhere, we could get a
copy, but I think a better method would be just to take the conclusion
of the discusions we may have here and file a ticket if needed, either
with a bug report or a scheduled task. If important information is
posted here and worth to keep, we can add it to the wiki. I have been
trying to log our work in the wiki. I know it looks like time lost,
but if we can document our work, people will be able to pick it up in
the future if we get busy IRL or something, or we may want to delegate
some part of our work to new collaborators. If we keep a devel-wiki,
the pass from user to developer will be easier. I have been reading on
KDE4 and I keep some notes in

For those who are joining now, we got a dedicated server donated by a
hosting company, and we installed some tools there for project
mangement. There is a blog we can use, wiki, SVN and ticket system.
The url is http://vlcore.vectorlinux.com, you can register yourself
there using the link at top right. A ftp service is available also in
ftp://vlcore.vectorlinux.com, those who would want to upload stuff
there have to mail me a public ssh key.

Keep in mind that we will be forced to the migration eventually, as SW
12.2 packages are txz, and I guess the lzma guys will eventually focus
all the development in the new format. The question is if we have to
do it now or in the next release.
