I just saw that Absolute Linux, another Slackware derivative, just released their 12.2.5 version, based off slackware64-current and using all txz packages. According to the Distrowatch announcement, they were able to get a lot more onto a single ISO because of the switch to the txz format. The Distrowatch blurb also mentioned that they've modified pcmanfm and Rox-Filer so that they can handle the txz packages.
