Initially, Semi-auto was a way to do part of the process by hand and part automatically. As I laid out the work flow however, it became sort of redundant, since in Advanced mode, you can basically do as much as you need by hand, and as much as you want in assisted mode. I believe I had already posted here at some point about loosing the extra mode.
