Hi, for reasons not worth mentioning, I usually have my username assigned with a uid other than 1001. Because of that, many times I come accross issues caused by files owned by uid 1001 instead of root, but where the situation is transparent if you are running as root or uid 1001. So I think it could be a good practice to have devs, or at least some of them, using an uid other than the default. I am sure it will make some annoyances crop up earlier in the dev cycle, reducing the volume of bug to track in the in the betas/RCs. just an idea. best regards. |
