Roy, You are definately not the only one with this problem. there are spcific packages from slackware that are supposed to address this issue. The problem is that they introduced problems for others. this is from the changelog: extra/x11-radeon-patched/x11-radeon-patched-6.9.0-i486-1.tgz: Here's the patched radeon module from the -9 X.Org Slackware packages.
