yes, an hybrid can be something to think about and try. I don't know all the consequences with the rest of the project, I don't know what Vamos can do (can it manage collisions between cars ? what does happen in case of a collision, basically ? does it allow us to move cars freely ? how does it react then ?), so I can't tell anyway, very generally, this is basically what I expect from a good network protocol : _a dedicated server implementation (that can theoretically be implemented into both the client -vDrift- and a dedicated server, so maybe we don't really need anything else), and try to avoid a non-dedicated server implementation (sometimes it's not possible) _an implementation that can handle a virtually unlimited number of clients. For example someone said on the forum "OpenAL will quickly run out of available sources", well yes if we consider a client = X sources, but we should rather think as "we got Y sources available, how do we assign them to the surrounding cars", if you see what I mean _on the server, a per user quality of service and bandwith optimisation _a master server (server that clients connect to to get, at least, a list of running servers connected to it) _even more generally, to ensure a minimum total ping, the best collisions management, and so on Nicolas ___________________________________________________________________________ Découvrez une nouvelle façon d'obtenir des réponses à toutes vos questions !
