#27 Imperium Galatica XP/crash/uninstall problem

Haveing problems with VDM sound, both running the game and trying to uninstall. i have detailed below what i have been doing;

After a few years of trying to get imperium galactica (IG) to run with sound, i have now got it to work, but the game crashs.

I have installed version VDMSound 2.0.4, IG with the 1.3 patch,

I can run the intro bits and get to the inital start of the game with the sound working fine.

when i try and navigate through the game or move the mouse around the screen the game crashes out, this can be instant or after a few minutes.

some of the time i get the following error messages;

C:\imperium\main.exe
the NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction
CS;0000 IP;1621 OP;fe ff 16 00 01 choose 'close' to terminate the application

or

Iimperium galactica
the NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction
CS; 0000 OP:181a OP:ff ff ff 00 00 Choose close to terminate the application

i have tryed to uninstall VDM sound but i get the same error message, and when looking in the system files parts of the programme are still there.

Any ideas
