Hi,
I use virtualdub2 for my first time to capture VHS tape video from a VCR recorder. The video are much better than other software that I have tested as Hauppauge capture or Pinacle for Dazzle. But I have encountered an issue to capture audio. I don't no if I made a mistake in my virtualdub2 configuration or if there is a specific way ton considere to capture audio.

Please can you help me.

Best regards.

    Hi,
I verified my captured VHS tape video and to my surprise the audio was also captured.
Unfortunately I have encountered another problem with the quality of my captured video. The contours of people have streaks and are not sharp.

My question : how can I resolve this before launching the video capture.

    Best regards.

Maybe it's interlace problems. Try adding DEINTERLACE filter. Or capture half of the horizontal lines (ie: 720x240) and then double it.

"Streaks" are called combing, this is called by your source video being interlaced. Use deinterlacer with "double frame rate" and one of the three interpolating algorithms, Yadif is the best that VD has, bob is the simplest. Make sure you correctly set up field order, to verify, skip frame by frame - if the movement is consistent then your field order is correct, if it is like two frames forward one frame back, then it is incorrect and needs to be swiched to another one, there are only two options, so you cannot make a mistake.
