Hello,
in one of 30 installations on win10 boxes VcXsrv.exe apparently doesn't read system.XWinrc from standard install directory. Some wrong settings are read, NOT the settings in c:\program files\vcxsrv\ system.XWinrc . Perhaps read from registry???
Who can help? Where can I switch on debugging? Where is log file then?
Further information:
Thats what I am doing: I insert into system.XWinrc in every of 30 Win10 installations:
styles {
Tk noframe topmost
}
taskbar {
Tk notab
}
But in one Win10 box its ignored (meanwhile, first worked 1 year). Seems that another system.XWinrc is taken without "topmost". I can delete system.XWinrc. Then "noframe" and "notab" is still taken into account!! On other 30 win10 boxes the tk-windows get a frame and a tab appears and no "topmost" property when deleting system.Xwinrc. But NOT so in that one buggy Win10 box!!! Crazy!! Where does vcxsrv.exe get the configuration without system.XWinrc?? From registry somewhere???
Who can help? Where can I switch on debugging? Where is log file then?

I found log file in c:\Users\win10\AppData\Local\Temp\VCXsrv.0.log
Inside logfile I saw that vcxsrv tries to load a .Xwinrc . I have no .Xwinrc
I found out that on that PC that not worked properly vcxsrv had version 64.1.14, other PC in same network hat 64.1.20. I updated to 64.1.20 , then topmost works. But still strange, that my setting in system.XWinrc are still not considered : deleting "noframe" no frame appears on that PC.
In other a other office with 12 Win10-PCs the version vcxsrv-64.1.14.5.installer.exe works fine and settings in system.XWinrc are considered.
Seems to be that vcxsrv sometimes reads the tk attributes "noframe", "topmost", .. from linux server. so that a entry in system.XWinrc or .XWinrc is not necessary.
Now I have a solution now for that one PC. But still many open questions....
BTW: I restarted vcxsrc after every change in system.XWinrc , of course.
