Hi Everyone, Is there a way to set the alt tag content for an image component in VCL for PHP 2.0? If not is there a workaround? This is kind of a big deal as basic accessibility guidelines require alt text for images on a page. Hi all, after I updated VCL from SVN to version 196, I get an error "Component propname already registered" on D4PHP startup. None of the components are available in the tool palette and only the Standard package appears in the package browser. D4PHP is Update2 and with the VCL version that was included in the Update2, everything worked. What to do? thanks, Michael |

I'd have a hard time believing there's a hosting provider that doesn't. Even godaddy for $3.99/month offers it, the only catch there is you have to either edit a config file following instructions provided, or alternatively name your files with ".php5" extensions. -Rob On 9/17/07, Jim Hunter <ji...@di...> wrote: > > No matter how much you want to use it with PHP 4 you're not going to be > able to do it. the VCL classes were written against PHP 5 and are NOT > backward compatible to PHP 4. No matter how much you want to use it with PHP 4 you're not going to be able to do it. the VCL classes were written against PHP 5 and are NOT backward compatible to PHP 4. It would be like saying I want to compile my C++ application with my C compiler, it's just not going to happen. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Switch to a hosting company that supports PHP 5. Hello, With the goal to enhance existing documentation, we have updated the documentation system and now can be used with an standard phpDoc distribution, as only the template has been modified to process all the properties, methods and events using the VCL for PHP extensions, you can find it here: http://www.qadram.com/vcl4php/vcldoc_beta/ ActionList and Frame are the most updated components using the new documentation format, please, feel free to comment anything about it. Just complementing a bit the Jim Hunter mail with some extra info, we are planning to create components for mobile devices, that is, to create applications to work well on mobile devices and PDAs, those components are planned that won't use javascript. Plain HTML is the norm for output of your control unless you are creating qooxdoo controls or one of the other JS controls. You can create a new control that simply spits out a simple TEXT tag or DIV or SPAN or anything. I think there is a simple tutorial on Jose's site that talks about creating your own controls. You can read all the posts about creating components at the VCL For PHP Forums. <http://www.qadram.com/vcl4php/forums/viewforum.php?f=4> ( that is http://www.qadram.com/vcl4php/forums/viewforum.php?f=4 if the link does not work) Jim On 7/28/07, Suavi Ali Demir <de...@ya...> wrote: > > Hello, I would like develop my existing code into vcl components that > output plain html code (no java script). is that possible? Hello, I send this mail to let you know about what happened in the last two weeks and to introduce you two new qadram software members that will be focused in the VCL for PHP development from now on. The last two weeks I have been really busy getting ready for the expansion of the company to add enough resources to work towards version 2.0, that's why I have not answered some of the emails on the mailing list, those will be answered asap. The new qadram software members are: Juan José Durán <jua...@qa...> Miguel González <mig...@qa...> And they will start their VCL for PHP work by completing the missing test cases for the test framework. You can help us also on this task, by sending tests to be integrated and added and, of course, applications or small test apps we can use to test the integrity of the library against changes. Even we are in the same physical office, all discussions regarding this project will take place through the mailing list, so you can participate. And any additions/changes we plan to make, will be first discussed on the list with you. If you have any questions, please, don't hesitate to ask. -- José León qadram software C/Juan Ramón Jiménez, 15 Entlo. 2 03203 Elche ALICANTE (SPAIN) T: +34 965 45 48 48 F: +34 965 45 48 48 M: +34 618 28 13 69 http://www.qadram.com -- José León qadram software C/Juan Ramón Jiménez, 15 Entlo. 2 03203 Elche ALICANTE (SPAIN) T: +34 965 45 48 48 F: +34 965 45 48 48 M: +34 618 28 13 69 http://www.qadram.com |

Dear Jos=E9, I haven't heard from you since Friday (today's tuesday). I submitted a patch last Friday on this list. First, I want to apologize for the barage of messages last week. When the message(s) I sent didn't show up on the list within 24 hours, I presumed they were lost. I've since learned that Sourceforge's list servers can get 'backed up' due to apparently large traffic. Second, I wanted to ask if you received the most recent patch submission from me (Fixes 2 things) which I sent around June 14th. I'm not asking you to rush it through, but I would like you to confirm whether or not it will be considered. My project (which uses the VCL) is currently on-hold until I can pull-in those changes into a checked-out vcl. Basically, if I don't have to, I don't want to deploy a custom vcl to my web hosting provider for testing, I'd rather use an SVN-downloaded version if not a released version. If you want more detail on why a change was made in my patch, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to explain/discuss-on-the-list. -Robert |
