At the moment I have no idea, where the source code could be. Sorry for that. I only have the source file for version 1.70, but I am going to publish it also for 1.80 as soon as I can find it.

I proudly announce, that I have found the code for 1.80 (with the joystick and other extensions). You can find by the files of the project (vbspec-full-180.zip) or by the Code section (I have committed the code in the SourceForge repository).
You are free to download and use the code (perhaps for a new version or for converting the project for Visual Basic.NET).
Maybe we can revive this project after all ...

It will be some work to adapt the code to even compile under .NET. I am also trying to reorganize the code a little bit. I made a kind of proof of concept and it looks good for now, but, as mentioned above, there is a lot of work ahead.
In the process of trying to update my laptop (a HDD/SSD instead of the optical drive) there is little progress. I already have the HDD, but to buy the optical rack ... well, this is another story. I have an Acer Aspire 8920g with Linux on it. I have bought this in 2008 and in that time it has cost 7 times the average wage of a factory worker and now, after some 8 years, I cannot get an optical rack, because the DVD drive connects to the laptop via a PATA connector, and that is "so old". I have contacted some places where they might be able to acquire this for me and now I am waiting for the answers. The fact, that after some 8 years you cannot get parts for such an expesive computer, sounds very stupid and it is also characteristic for our "work-consume-die" age.
I'll keep you up to date, if something occurs.

After some struggles and issues (Windows does not want to boot from an external USB hard drive) and some unexpeceted successes (Linux does recognize the hard drive where the /home is mapped, even, if the hard drive is now an external USB drive), I now do have a system that seems to be working. In the next days I intend to open a new branch with the code in the process of being .NET-ified.

Update on the .NET-ifying process
After some struggles and issues (Windows does not want to boot from an external USB hard drive) and some unexpeceted successes (Linux does recognize the hard drive where the /home is mapped, even, if the hard drive is now an external USB drive), I now do have a system that seems to be working. And here we are!
Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome the dotnet branch, containing the migration process to .NET at its very beginning. Every help is welcome.
