Thank you to Mark Cranness, Gregory Nowak, and Frank (Beythien?). Much appreciated. SUGGESTION for the vBox developers: please consider adding the ability (perhaps via browse for .vdi destination) to choose a location for a new .vdi at creation time. @Gregory ... answer to your question, by having many smaller* drives, then i only need to create a 1/4 TB image if i choose to back up my O/S c: drive; in addition to having separate logical drives for placing .vdi files off of the c: drive, i also have logical drives for data (100GB) and .iso images (282GB). * i laugh when i say "smaller" when talking about 100GB logical disks because in mid-1980's my first hard disk on my Zenith XT (IBM CLONE) came with a 10MB (sic) hard disk. Again thanks to Mark, Gregory, and Frank to pointing me into to documentation and for your guidance. i'm hoping that eventually i can segregate .vdi's to multiple logical disks as per my original idea, if not, i may have to rejoin my E:, F:, and G: disks into a single logical disk if vBox needs all .vdi's on the same drive (i'm guessing that's not the case).
