vbIRCd v1.0.71 [Update3] has DDE Support

The v1.0.71 which is Update3 of vbIRCd has support for DDE which means a program can send commands to vbIRCd without any network connections to it, just API kinda thing which is kinda hard to explain what it really is.

DDE standard for Dynamic Data Exchange. Which is really cool and the main reason why I added DDE communitcation support is so that a web server project which I am building for vbIRCd can allow a admin to remotely using a web browser configure the ircd and can rehash, restart, and shutdown the ircd.... read more

Project resumed!

I've got allot done with my school project so I've decided there's no need to put vbIRCd on hold since I've noticed more and more people are getting into vbIRCd and just waiting for the new release to play around with the beta networking code :)

There should be another release soon this weekend because I've fixed a few security risk bugs which I'm not going into detail until the release. I just wanted to let you all know that I'm still working hard on the project and not sitting some where doing nothing which is useless. ;)

vbIRCd Project now on hold

Sorry to say that I now have no time to develop vbIRCd for at least a week and that's gunna put the project kinda behind. So I just wanted to let you the people know about what's going on and the reasons are: 1) I have a school report due very soon so I have to get it done 2) I now have a job as a developer for The Steele Group, LLC and my first project is to develop something on Windows CE. =(... read more

New Server-to-Server Protocol being designed

Currently I am (along with developing vbIRCd) designing a new server-to-server protocol for IRCds based on vbIRCd and Unreal IRCd. The New Protocol is called Central Tech-Nic Protocol(CTNP for short) and it will bring new types of server-to-server only commands used to maintaining the IRC network better(mostly for better channel management) during a server link establishment and after.

I will keep updating the news for more information and details about it later and the documention for this new Protocol will come with vbIRCd v1.0.71 [Update3]... read more

v1.0.48 [Update2] & Higher will now contain the missing file

The so called "Missing File" which is CSWSK32.OCX will now be included in the vbIRCd.zip files of v1.0.48 and higher since people are getting confused and seem to not figure out there is a file named "A_File_Is_Missing.txt" and not reading it!

So I will include the file for now on for this Project site and soon the vbIRCd Web Site ONLY. I will NOT include the missing file in the zip file for the Planet-Source-Code.com/vb/ site. Since it is not allowed and their server filters out compiled files anyway. Sorry for those who I confused eariler.... read more

vbIRCd Networking Support code development under way

Alright, I'm at least gunna keep you posted on what's going on with the vbIRCd project. I am current developing the vbIRCd Networking Support code and using the Unreal Server-to-Server Protocols so that vbIRCd will be more useful then just supporting crapy ol' wIRCd Protocol. Anyway the project is coming along great and if any of you could do some Protocol researching for me then that'll be great!... read more

vbIRCd Now at Source Forge

vbIRCd is now open and ready here at Source Forge. I found that Source Forge was what I needed to use to help develop vbIRCd easyer since it has very useful tools like Forums, bug tracking and etc...

Enjoy... :)
