Im not sure how useful this would be. But an option to
run the gameboy without a "cartrage inserted" could be
nice. This way a game could be played that didn't
require a cartrage without makeing a wrapper for it.
One could just load a save state. Or even testing your
own custom bios?!?

    Last time I checked, VBA supports .mb programs of up to
    about 250 KB, which the emulator loads into EWRAM.

    If you are using the BIOS, you should be able to run the
    gameboy "without a cartridge inserted" by holding Start +
    Select when the rom starts up (when the Gameboy logo
    appears). The "Nintendo (r)" logo should then disappear. I'm
    not sure if this would be useful with VBA 1.7.2, but
    combined with vbalink (unofficial version of VisualBoy
    Advance) it allows you to play single-pak multiplayer games.
