#190 VBA 1.7.2 SDL crash the computer

I am using Gentoo Linux - Kernel 2.6.12-ck4, on a
ReiserFS partition. I have a very strange problem
when running VBA: sometimes, while saving or
loading state, the system start slowing down, some
programs (including VBA) stops answering. This
keep growing for some seconds until entire X (Xorg
6.8.2) freezes. If I change to console, I see a
kernel panic message, an IO error: someting about
the kernel cannot read/write the hard disk. I had
this problem twice yesterday but I didn't copy the
message. I could try to repeat the error to copy the
full message and post here, but it seems it is not
healthy to my HD.
