#170 only fullscreen / crash

Hi, got a few major problems with running VBA 1.7.2 on Mac OS
10.4 Tiger:

1. You can only play on fullscreen 'cause you don't see anyting
without playing in fullscreen...
2. If you press ESC while a rom runs fullscreen (e.g. To change to
finder) the program crashes.

Here a screenshot as attachment. This screenshot shows what
happens, if I'm not playing in fullscreen. You see NOTHING!

Hope, someone can fix that,
