Hi,
I have observed an odd behaviour when using valgrind recently (starting with
the HEAD version from about two weeks ago, and using the memcheck tool)
which I cannot explain.
Compiling and running the same source from my PC works just fine, but
running it from my laptop causes a total freeze (actually, it's worse, it
seems to lock after a few attempts some kernel table - "ps" and "top" would
freeze and will not be killed by kill -9).
I'm running an almost identical version on Mandrake cooker (10.0rc) on both
machines (P4 & P3 respectively, the only main difference is that the PC runs
on kernel2.6.2 and the laptop using kernel2.4.25rc).
I really don't know if this issue is relatedto kernel problem or to the fact
that valgrind has some sensitivities when being run on laptops).
I'd be glad to provide and try whatever you think might help to debug and
resolve the problem.
Thanks,
Sefer.
