Hmmm. Tools currently cannot access VG_(threads), and they also cannot see the architecture state: there is no pub_tool_*.h which would allow that :-( So no way at the moment for callgrind to get at parameter values (apart from being lucky with x86 parameters just being on the stack). Does it make sense to have parameter access functionality for tools, abstracting away the calling convention of the platform? Or is there already something like this in coregrind I missed? Josef |

Dear Valgrind developers, the "10th International Parallel Tools Workshop" will take place at the High Performance Computing Center (HLRS) in Stuttgart, Germany, 4-5 October 2016. This workshop is a forum for developers of tools for parallel programming with the purpose of enabling the peers to interact and communicate. We invite you and/or members of your group to contribute one or more presentations to this workshop. The format of the presentations planned for this two-day meeting is a 30 to 45-minute talk including time for discussion. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: * Debugging Tools and Concepts * Performance Tools and Concepts * Success-stories for Tool Usage * Parallel-Programming Tools in Industrial Environments We invite you to give a technical or scientific talk on a topic of your choice. Please let me know before 9th August whether you plan to accept our invitation, and if so, send us a half-page abstract about your presentation on the same date. Furthermore, the speakers are expected to prepare a printable version of their contribution for the conference proceedings which will be made available in book form as Lecture Notes in Computer Science, Springer. Please, find more information on dead lines, location, venue, travel details etc. on the website http://toolsworkshop.hlrs.de/2016 (in preparation). Please let us know whether you plan to accept this invitation until 9th August 2016. Yours sincerely, Christoph Niethammer and José Gracia on behalf of the organizing committee |
