Hi, Where (in the code) does valgrind get the path to the default suppressions? The only place I can see that loads suppressions is load_one_suppressions_file() which loads every file in VG_(clo_suppressions), which has all the files passed through the command-line, put there by code that's in in m_main.c. The only problem is valgrind is trying to load /usr/local/lib/valgrind/ default.supp and that file doesn't exist (my --prefix was different). Am I missing something? Is default.supp loaded for every run? Thanks in advance, - Filipe Cabecinhas |

If you want to propose a patch that disables the glibc version check when a certain configure option has been specified (e.g. --without-glibc), feel free to do so. Bart. |

I don't think the check can be avoided at the moment, no.

Sort of - configure uses it to determine what version of glibc you
have so it can work out what suppressions to include in the default
suppressions file.

Hi, I was under the (wrong?) impression that valgrind avoided libc functions as much as it could, but valgrind is currently depending on glibc's features.h (at least configure wants it). Is this dependency really needed? I ask this because I don't have glibc on the system I'm building valgrind in. I hacked up a features.h to shut up configure and I'm assuming it may break afterwards, but wanted to confirm. Thanks in advance, - Filipe Cabecinhas |
