Hi, The Call For Papers for the Workshop on Binary Instrumentation and Applications (WBIA) is out: http://rogue.colorado.edu/Pin/wbia.htm This would be a good forum for publishing work involving Valgrind. Nick |

So the tool is told about it, and memcheck will mark it as accessible
and defined at that point, so something must be changing that later.
> ==3053== Warning: set address range perms: large range 1236811088 (noaccess)
I wonder if this is the culprit - something is marking just over 1Gb
of address space as inaccessible here.
I'm attaching a patch that changes that message to report the
addresses it is operating on - could you apply the patch and try
again to see if I'm right?
It might also be worth adding --trace-syscalls=yes at the same time
so we can see if there are any system calls triggering that large
change or not.

That's way way more than Old Bill's 640Kb, but it is still a fairly fierce limitation these days :-) Sounds like a good candidate for a config item or command line parameter. Ok, here is output with double -d, plus output of objdump -h. Note the
sections are now 0x1000 aligned.
