This is the job of distributors. And if you install valgrind yourself, what's the issue of doing "./configure; make install" a second time for a skin package? If this seems to be too idealistic: It's working with my Calltree skin with V 1.9.6, V-20030725 and V-20031012 this way, and if there's no change in the skin interface major version number, it should do so for future V releases, too.
