This looks like a Mac OS specific bug, as this is working for me
on linux (32 bits and 64 bits).

Having no access to a MacOs system, no way for me to investigate.

The best is to file a bug report on bugzilla, and maybe a MacOS
afficionado will dig into it.
Please attach the test program.
