I backed out r12466 just a few minutes ago, as r12813.  So the
unmodified ToT should work ok for you now.

Pls let me know any other critical failures on OSX asap.  I am 
planning to finalise OSX patches for the upcoming 3.8.0 release
in the next 24 hours or so.
