I think this is a Good Thing.  Minor comments:

* comments, line 94/95: you have the phrase "a block of interest"
  and I wasn't sure what "interest" means here

* typedef LC_Extra: isn't there an inconsistency here between
  the use of SizeT and UWord, in the definition of indirect_szB?

* it all still works with DEBUG_LEAKCHECK=1 and DEBUG_CLIQUE=1 ?
