Same thing with vanilla 2.6.10. This time, when my tests hang and zz35 fails, I did killall -9 valgrind ; sh zz35.sh and zz35 succeeded. In other words, the killall (which killed my hanging testsuit programs running under vg) immediately fixed the situation. No delay.
