#2 Abiword doesn't support Tamil (or any other Indic script)
Bug 5518 requests "indic script support in abiword".
Note that there is some amount localisation already
happening in Abiword. But without rendering support
working on Localization is meaningless.
Abiword uses its own algorithm for rendering text.
However it seems there are efforts to move to Pango in
version 2.4 as per a comment on the above mentioned bug.
