We've started using vacation as our autoresponder for an email distribution of Linux administrators.

We've developed our own wrapper to make sure that vacation is only called after business hours, and on weekends and holidays and never during the business day. So now it is an after-hours autoresponder.

There's one feature that we're missing that was in the original vacation: -x. The ability to exclude certain addresses from auto-replies. We'd like to exclude ourselves just so it doesn't become annoying. There might be a few other addresses we'd like to add, too.

As a workaround, I'm wondering if we'd get the same functionality if we set a servers date to January 18th, 2038 and then run some basic emails through vacation from those we list to exclude? If we get some futuristic dates in the .vacation.db, would those entries be overridden when entries with older dates come through?

That's all I have. Thanks for porting this utility. As a former BSDi administrator, I miss it!
