I have been trying to get v4l2vd running and I used the example 2. 1) in the NOTES (I also used transcode to make the raw file). When I run Mplayer (the last step in the example), everything freezes and I have to restart my computer. I have also tried to use VLC and it doesn't crash but I get no video and when I try to run next time the device is busy. It looks similar to the problem in the bugs section so maybe the solution already exists? I would appreciate any advice.

Unfortunately no work was conducted so far to correct the freeze issue on newer kernels (>= 2.6.20). So for now I recommend that you use the last known working configuration which was kernel 2.6.18.
