Which is short for Virtual SerVer, in its first iteration, its ~200 MB virtual hard disk
image, that will introduce you to the Linux server world, and will help you get
introduced to real life server workloads and scenarios, cause let’s face it, real servers
run on GNU\Linux.

No need to fear though, I have made sure the transition will be as swift and trouble-free as much as possible.

So what it’s VserV in nutshell?

Debian 7.1.0 GNU\Linux x64-bit OS with no graphical environment.

Nginx 1.2.1-2.2 x64-bit build, with 4 threads running by default.

MariaDB 5.5.32 x64-bit, InnoDB as default storage engine, and UTF-8 default character encoding.

PHP5-FPM 5.4.4-14 (FastCGI Process Manager) is an alternative PHP FastCGI implementation with new features, like “Adaptive process spawning” depending on the site load, useful for sites of any size, (Better than PHP5-FASTCGI/FCGI), and by default its running 8 threads and can spawn up to 60 threads, depending on load.
