#8 Access update problem - autonumber but not key

I want to update a table recordset. Unfortunately I have
an ID in an Access DB, that is autonumber but not a
key. When I update the recordset, the ID gets red with
the message "Field cannot be updated."

Can anybody help me, that I can update this recordset?
