Are UML's virtual serial ports capable of handing sustained throughput?
I'm trying to transfer files across one, and I'm running into
significant performance problems trying to send data into the UML
environment. The following messages keep showing up on the console:
Someone should implement ssl_throttle
Someone should implement ssl_unthrottle
These come from arch/um/drivers/ssl.c.
I'm driving the ports at 38400 bps, and files sizes are reasonably small
(< 100k). I only see the problem in the "inbound" direction --
transfers from the UML environment back out to the physical system do
not exhibit this behavior.
I'm assuming this is some sort of flow control issue, but I'm not sure
how best to resolve it.
