I've come across a couple of problems whilst running a recent
version of uml. I'm using the 2.6.6-1 uml kernel with a
fedora 2 root_fs.
Everytime I run a command at the bash prompt, bash reports an
error similar to the one in the subject. The command always
executes ok though. I don't get the error if I use other
shells like tcsh or ash. I've attached an strace listing of
bash. Is there any other info you require?
Another problem. After the system boots up I can log onto
tty0 ok, but when I logout and go to login again I can't input
anything. The login prompt appears ok but it's no longer
accepting keyboard input. This problem doesn't occur on other
tty's, but I would prefer to just login on tty0.
I'm also having problems with starting the syslog service. It
doesn't seem to want to detach from the terminal. So if you
start it during boot, the boot sequence just hangs when syslog
starts. If you start it at the command line you have to
Ctrl-C to get the command line back. I've attached a ps and
I've been using uml for a while using a 2.4.22 uml kernel with
a fedora 1 root_fs (without any of the above problems) but it
is time to upgrade.
