Hi, I'm new to User-Mode Linux.
I'm trying to compile kernel modules for UML, I'm using Linux ver.
2.4.19-5um, and I downloaded the RedHat7.2 "full pristine"
For some reason, btw, that filesystem doesn't come with "make" installed
on it. But that's not what I'm writing about =).
When I compile my kernel modules on the UML virtual machine, the modules
get compiled for the RH7.2 kernel - not for the 2.4.19-5um kernel, which
I gather is what is actually being run. So they compile fine, but then I
get kernel mismatch errors when I try to insmod them.
Can someone please fill me in on the proper way to go about compiling
kernel modules to run on UML? I'm not sure I should even be compiling on
the UML machine =). Thanks!
