Hi, today I started UML (for the first time) from a normal user and I have encounterd two strange behavioures: 1)if the filesystem is not cleanly umounted UML check it correctly but after the check it didn't write [PASSED] and it remains blocked. 2)running it on a correct filesystem the boot phase arrive until to the moment of setup of the network and print this errors: SIOCADDRT: No such device SIOCADDRT: Network is unreachable related to the eth0 interface (in fact neither the tap0 interface on the host is setup). Can a normal user setup the ethernet device (and the tap device)? Thank for any help! Fabrizio |

Use COW file: $ linux ubd0=<root_cow_file_name>,root_fs ..... > > 2)running it on a correct filesystem the boot phase arrive until to > the moment of setup of the network and print this errors: > > SIOCADDRT: No such device > SIOCADDRT: Network is unreachable # chmod +s /path/to/uml_net HTH, MrChuoi |
