If you've tried installing the RH9 root_fs you might notice that the
ethernet mac address is not assigned based on the IP. It's fine for one
UML, but falls apart when you have more than one. Here's how I beat it...
put this in your startup script:
pwd | md5sum | sed -e 's/^\(..\)\(..\)\(..\)\(..\).*/fe:fd:\1:\2:\3:\4/' >
eth0=tuntap,tap-ap1,`cat hwaddr` \
fakehd fake_ide \
You can obviously use something other than pwd to pass to md5sum, but it
generates a decent fake hardware address.
